Joel is awesome. I am not a fan of dentistry, but Joel has been able to make me look forward to my visits. Joel is empathetic and understands how to manage my anxiety. Cleanings are awesome, staff has been accommodating , and the big stuff has been a breeze!

I’ve been a patient of Dr Gould for over 12 years. He and his staff are so amazing and have taken good care of me for all of my dental needs as well as my Invisalign treatments. I recommend Modern American Dentistry in Manhattan Beach. Go see Dr Gould!

Lack of patient advocacy and cannot be trusted This dentist was highly unprofessional and unethical. When asked to review the X-rays, he said there were cavities, but when challenged, he said he was just kidding!?! He falsely said i needed a crown when there were no cavities, and admittedly misdiagnosed my treatment plan. He prescribes medication ILLEGALLY! Since i declined his treatment plan he called me to apologize and said he makes mistakes but then he continued and offer anti-anxiety pills without proper prescriptions and told me because he was a dental surgeon it was okay...totally unethical and untrustworthy. Be careful with this dentist, he is money hungry and will manipulate your dental plan falsely to make a dime. Lack of patient advocacy and cannot be trusted

I loved my visit to Modern American Dentistry. The staff was super friendly , helpful and professional. My hygienist Victoria made me feel at ease , addressed all my concerns confidently and is super smart on how diet can affect or oral health. Dr Gould was great he is basically the modern Weston A Price and if you don't know who that is you should! I trust Dr Gould to not push services on me that are not needed. He is an expert on sleep apnea and has a different approach , he treats the neurological aspect to apnea not just the structural . I love the fact that the whole office had a more holistic and lifestyle approach. The dental assistants also took the time to clean my appliance thoroughly . This is a happy office.

Moved to the South Bay 3 years ago and hadn't found a good dentist in the area. So finally decided to try one that my insurance recommended and lucky for me it was Dr. Gould. He is an amazing person, from the start the initial exam he takes the time to evaluate you and will tell you what's the appropriate treatment and which can be done urgent and which can you leave for later to help you maximize your insurance benefits. He is courteous, excellent bedside manner and very good at his profession. I was in serious need of treatment and in a month he has taken care of my most uncomfortable ailments. I am so happy with his office! Before I forget his office staff is wonderful too!
