If I could I would give it NO STARS. This was one of the worst billing experiences I’ve ever had. Marina Dentistry tried to charge me nearly $1,000 out of pocket for a procedure that my insurance showed should cost me about $45. That is not a minor difference, IT’S A MAJOR RED FLAG!!! When I questioned the amount and asked for clarification, I didn’t receive a clear explanation. Shortly after I pushed back on the charge, I was told they would no longer accept my insurance. The timing felt anything but coincidental. I EVEN ASKED THE RECEPTIONIST IF IT WAS BECAUSE THEY WANTED ME TO PAY THEIR PRICE AND NOT MY INSURANCE PRICE AND SHE SAID YES AND THEN TRIED TO QUICKLY FIX WHAT SHE SAID. Patients should not have to fight to be billed correctly. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE anyone considering this office to VERIFY EVERY SINGLE CHARGE with their insurance company before agreeing to treatment. THESE PEOPLE ARE RIPPING YOU OFF!!! I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW THEY’RE TREATING THEIR ELDERLY PATIENTS KNOWING THEY’RE ON A FIXED INCOME!!! Based on my experience, I WOULD NOT TRUST their billing practices or them for that matter. Good luck, I might take this to ABC news or Fox 11.
Mar Mar (hygienist+) is an absolute professional. I had an intense gum cleaning from an infection. Treatment should ordinarily have been a terrible time. Mar Mar kept me informed and used her experience to know how much to numb my mouth and communicated throughout to make sure I was not in pain, while also getting the job done efficiently and effectively. She really earned my trust and I’ll only be coming back here now.
I came in because my dental bridge had come loose. I wanted to know whether it was possible to reattach it, as I was on vacation in Los Angeles for one month. I paid 200 dollars before the consultation. I showed and handed over my bridge to the first assistant to explain my situation. She told me she didn’t know whether it would be possible to reattach it and that the dentist would tell me after taking X-rays (30 minutes). A dentist then arrived and told me that a scan was required. I asked why a scan was needed just to reattach a bridge. He replied, “It’s the process” (30 minutes). The person who performed the scan was unable to tell me whether reattaching the bridge was possible. The same dentist came back and started explaining the scan to me. I told him that I had not come for a diagnosis, but simply to know whether he could reattach my bridge. His answer was no, because the bridge was too old. I asked why I had lost one hour and undergone so many X-rays and a scan. His response was, “It’s our job.” He then left me alone in the room. These are the facts. Personally, I do not
It was like going to a new dentist office. The girl at the front desk was pleasant and professional. I have never seen her before. But she is 10 times better than the normal crew at front desk. They are rude, don’t smile, don’t really say hello until I do. And just unprofessional. Like customers bother them something. And I didn’t have to wait forever like I normally do. Every time I go for my Invisalign appointment your waiting 20 minutes on Lonny and then they call you in so you thinibok great but nooo they just put you in a ro and I waited another 25 minutes! It’s ridiculous. And it’s like that every single appointment for my Invisalign. Lastly, they had a dr there doing my cleaning and not some guy who looked like he just started that day. It’s scary. I hope these are permanent changes ave not because of holidays. All the reviews I read on this business are bad but accurate. Hopefully they realize.
My visits to Marina Dentistry have genuinely been awful from start to finish. In my opinion, the entire place feels chaotic, unprofessional, and completely indifferent to patients. The front desk lady, I think her name is Marlene, acted irritated the moment I checked in and overall gave off an attitude like she couldn't be bothered to answer even basic questions. I left feeling more like a nuisance than a patient. The pricing was, in my experience, absurdly inflated. What they quoted me felt so excessive that I actually wondered if it was a joke. There was no transparency, no clear explanation, and every conversation felt like a sales pitch. The whole appointment came across as a push to get me to agree to the most expensive options possible, without any real empathy or guidance. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion, and it was the best decision I made. Not only did the other dentist take time to explain everything clearly, but the treatment plan actually made sense — and I ended up saving thousands of dollars by going somewhere else. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how over-the-top Marina Dentistry’s pricing felt to me. Overall, I walked out feeling, disrespected, lied to and completely drained. In my personal opinion, Marina Dentistry is wildly overpriced, untrustworthy, dismissive, and not remotely worth the stress. The Lady on front desk is without question the most entitled, rude and unprofessional employee I’ve ever encountered and I would strongly urge anyone considering them to save themselves the headache and find another office.
