LA Endodontics Dr. Gabreal Shamtoub DDS

Such a great office! I was comfortable and educated more on the procedure that was being done. If you have fears of being in a dental setting you’ll do just fine here, I had no complications and I’m now pain free after my root canal . Thank you so much for getting me a appointment in less than a week and thank you so much for the professionalism and work done during my visit I’ll definitely be back in the future if I need another root canal done.

Update: Of course this business would try and misconstrue the events and avoid taking responsibility even after filing a report with the BBB, avoid at all costs if you utilize MediCal: The information is both misleading and misreported as I never raised my voice & important details are "conveniently" left out of their response. The provider was approached by myself over the phone prior to my consultation. During this recorded call, I inquired about the coverage and out pocket costs specifically surrounding root canal procedures with regard to my insurance. This is both common practice and a reasonable request before making appointments to providers. The provider, LA Endodontics, claims they are unable to verify if services would be covered before consultation and making their diagnosis. This is categorically false as I was already seen by my general dentist & another endodontist with a referral & diagnosis provided to them. The reason for the referral was to operate a root canal procedure that had already been diagnosed and categorized as "complex" therefore being referred to a specialist. The big issue has nothing to do with what this provider states and tries to paint in their response. The issue comes from this provider not performing any services including root canal procedures without the mentioned CT scan, knowing that this extra CT scan is not covered by medical insurances. Therefore they accept patients and appointments knowing full in advance that they will have to charge consumers out of pocket costs to cover the CT scan before any root canal procedure. They claim they need to have a consultation, but if they won't do "ANY" procedures without CT scans not covered by insurances, they are without interpretation denying individuals services while misleading consumers to come in for consultations. The last component of my situation is that I directly asked the front office of this provider about out of pocket costs and if their would be any reason they would not be able to provide services completely covered by my insurance. They directly responded to me that it would be covered completely, only to arrive at my appointment, only to be informed in person by the same office staff member that there would in fact be an out of pocket charge. The office staff member made a mistake and the provider reluctantly admitted to it during our consultation, which they then tried to appease the situation by neglecting to charge my insurance for the consultation. This lack of accountability and knowing use of predatory business behavior, using bait and switch tactics to pressure consumers into agreeing to pay for optional services is unacceptable. Original: Complete predatory practice that tries to bring in patients with insurance covered consultations, only to provide service with required out of pocket costs. I was sent to this provider through my Medi-Cal insurance, double checked with the office to make sure they were within network and would be able to service my procedure fully through my insurance. They assured me they would be able to accommodate me and that a root canal procedure could be performed and covered through my insurance. After meeting in-person for a consultation, they reveal to me that the Endodontist, Dr. Shamtoub, does not perform root canal procedures without the use of CT technology, that of which is not covered by insurance and would then be a $500 out of pocket cost. This again after being told that there would be no such cost and the procedure could be done over the phone. Classic bait and switch, this office should be ashamed of wasting people's time.

I recently had a root canal procedure done by Dr. Gabreal Shamtoub at LA Endodontics in Tarzana, and I can't recommend him highly enough. From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. Dr. Shamtoub himself is a true expert; with his background from NYU for his DDS and USC for his endodontics specialty, he handled my case with remarkable precision and care. What could have been a daunting experience was quick, virtually painless, and he took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure I was comfortable throughout. He's gentle, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, turning what I dreaded into a smooth appointment. If you're in need of endodontic work, Dr. Shamtoub is seriously the best—five stars all the way!

I had been anxious for several days leading up to my root canal and realized I was scared for nothing. Dr. Gabrielle was absolutely amazing. His hands are truly magical, and I did not feel any pain throughout the procedure. He was very gentle, confident, and meticulous, which made the entire experience comfortable and stress-free. I would also like to commend the staff for their kindness and professionalism. Before the procedure, they showed an informative video explaining each step, which helped me understand what to expect and greatly eased my anxiety. Dr. Gabrielle and his entire team provided exceptional care from start to finish. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of endodontic treatment.
