Kidz Dental Care

Just had to jump in here because I have to call out unethical business practices whenever I see them… My son broke his tooth cap and had a big audition due today. We set an appointment to repair the tooth cap that Kidz Dental installed previously. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited in an EMPTY office with 4 employees for over 15 minutes to get seen. The assistant proceeded to take an x ray. Ten minutes later, she asked to take another x ray because she “forgot to save it.” 🙄 We did another xray. After another wait, Dr Kanuga examined him and confirmed with me that the tooth cap was for cosmetic purposes only. I told her yes. She said the assistant would return with pricing. 15 minutes later, she came back with a cash price of $580 for ONE tooth! Roman had two teeth caps previously done AT THIS LOCATION for $280. I was shocked at the obvious price gouge, told them that the business practices were unethical amd that I would be making my experience known. The medical assistant told me to be sure to mention Dr Kanuga! So here we are… I would not give one penny to this establishment and would highly recommend finding an ethical location for your children’s dentistry. My daughter reminded me that when she took Roman for his previous tooth overlays, he was in tremendous pain when Dr. Manuga was working on him. Her assistant had to take over. What a mistake going back! There was another dentist years ago and my experience was better. I will never take any of my kids there again.

Kidz dental has been our first ever pediatric dental! Omg I highly recommend! My children were so pleased with the staff and the DR. I’m just so amazed with how much care and how they make you feel the 1 on 1 experience! They’re all so very nice! Also the waiting area is amazing Rob and Ollie were amazed by it! No wait time! It’s just awesome with parents with more than one child. Let’s not forget the front staff! They’re so lovely and and attentive! If there is anyone who needs to be thank for us joining this amazing DR is Stephanie! She was so kind and informative when I called! Thank you!

Extremely disappointing experience. There was no communication about applying fluoride to my 4-year-old — they claimed it’s just “routine” at their clinic and that we were supposed to tell them beforehand if we didn’t want it. How exactly were we supposed to know that without them informing us? This wasn’t our child’s first cleaning (we’ve had two previous cleanings at a pediatric dentist in Ohio), and the whole appointment here took less than 10 minutes. We honestly thought it was just an examination because of how rushed it felt. When I raised concerns, the front desk staff (I didn’t catch her name) told me that kids’ cleanings are always like that. If I didn’t already have experience with pediatric dental cleanings, I might have believed her! But honestly, it seemed like a dental assistant was just rushing through to move appointments along — and the result showed. Those teeth did not look like they’d been professionally cleaned. Would not recommend.

We absolutely love Dr Hirano. He has a way about him that allow kids to feel safe. He is also fast and no nonsense, in a good way. Just a really good guy. Fantastic at what he does. I have 3 kids and we travel from Sherman Oaks for past 9 years because the other 2 dentists we had been to were good at being a dentist but just tried to hard in a very annoying way, with kids. And just as importantly, the entire staff are kind, and competent!!

Dr. Hirano and his staff are truly the best in the industry! I have been taking my kids there for 10 years now and they actually love going to the dentist. The most amazing part is my youngest son, now 9 years old, is special needs and everyone at Kidz Dental cater to him in the most amazing way. Dr. H always comes out and chats with us before and after every appointment. They are kind, compassionate, professional, considerate and accommodating. We are always treated like FAMILY! Love this place and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist for their child.
