Erick Bartolome DDS, West Beach Dental

It's rare to find a dentist in the south bay that doesn't try to convince you to do unnecessary operations on your teeth. I went to two dentists before Dr. Erick, one was trying to convince me to redrill a bunch of fillings just in case they might go bad in the future, and another one was telling me I needed a crown when I had no issues with the tooth and the xrays were otherwise fine. Dr. Erick reassured me that my teeth were fine, and if anything does start looking like it might need treatment, it's better to deal with it then than do preventative procedures that might not be necessary at all. Will be coming back here for years to come.

This office definetly deserves all 5 stars. I have been going to Erick for about 10 years and had some serious PTSD from past dentist experiences. Erick is very understanding, gentle and supportive. When it came to the drilling (having two crowns done now), he made sure I was always comfortable and didn't rush anything which I soooo need. His staff is great too. Dr. B is truly an expert in his craft and, more importantly, someone you can trust with your health. Noticeable effort is put into the little things, like clearly outlining treatments step by step, frequently checking for patient discomfort, recalling personal details from previous visits, and actively listening to any concerns or opinions the patient may have. These little things go a long way in creating a comfortable environment with complete transparency, trust, and no room for unpleasant surprises. The treatments themselves are minimally invasive and as pain-free as possible. I usually don’t feel anything during the fillings or even during the anesthetic shots! This was not the case, at all, with previous dentists. I still tense up and start sweating in anticipation of pain due to my past experiences with other dentists, but this habit has started to subside with each passing visit to West Beach. I’ve been a patient for about 4 years now. Really can’t say enough good things. You’ll feel at home here, and you’ll leave feeling better than when you came in. Dr. B and team (Jay, Zuli, Mari, Shelley, Cassie, Kelsie, Annie, and anyone I missed), we’re lucky to have you guys! Thank you all so much.

I don’t normally write reviews, but my experiences at West Beach Dental have been so overwhelmingly positive that I felt like I had to! I had pretty bad dental anxiety, but everyone at this office is so kind and caring that I never feel nervous before my appointments anymore. Dr. Bartolome always takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and takes conservative approaches - he’s the exact opposite of those dentists who push everything on you. Cannot say enough positive things about my experiences at West Beach Dental and everyone who works there!

Both my daughter and I had cleanings and the hygienists were fantastic. They were especially gentle and caring with my daughter which I appreciated. The doctor was very kind and explained everything about my treatment. Excellent office staff as well. So happy to have found a great dentist for our family.
